In contrast to the documentary credit, the documentary collection involves a prior performance on the part of the seller, i.e. the manufacture and dispatch of goods or rendering of services before securing payment. This instrument can therefore only be recommended if the seller (exporter) and buyer (importer) know each other to be reliable.

Our bank will act as trustee and intermediary between exporter and importer and will present documents – by order of the exporter – which are proof of the actual delivery of a product or service rendered, receiving in exchange the payment or the acceptance of a bill of exchange.

The documentary collections will be handled in accordance with the provisions of the “Uniform Rules for Collections” drafted by the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris.
